Two mothers from Jaipur had to wait almost 10 days to meet their newborn babies after being switched during delivery at Mahila Chikitsalaya. The two babies were switched due to negligence by hospital staff.
The infants were reunited with their parents after a DNA test in Jaipur. The hospital administration, with the help of the police, conducted a DNA test to confirm the biological parents of the two infants.

Hospital staff identified her error three days after delivery. A hospital administration official who did not wish to be named said Nisha gave birth to a baby boy, while Reshma gave birth to a baby girl.
Initially, the parents refused to believe that their babies had been switched. Following this, the hospital administration carried out a blood test and then a DNA test to identify the biological parents of the infants.
An official said: ‘The biological parents agreed to change the babies after the DNA report confirmed the neglect.
