Since its inception as the brand’s first cushioned running silhouette in 2015, adidas has used the Ultraboost as a precursor to its sustainability initiatives like the Parley Ocean recycled plastic construction seen on the Web DNA proposal. Taking a subtle sample of the Queens-resident MLB team, the Ultraboost Web DNA takes on the aesthetic of the New York Mets’ cream pinstripe uniforms.
Dominated by a PRIMEKNIT “Chalk White” upper, color-matched laces provide a simple base for the dominant hues to spill over with the titular “Impact Orange” hue rarely appearing throughout the model in the rubber eyelets and embroidered band of the heel. A contrasting “Collegiate Navy” darkens the overall aesthetic, filling out the interior lining, perforated heel counter, and 3D-printed Stretchweb midsole presiding atop BOOST-infused rendered in White. The predominant navy hue picks up along the midfoot three-Stripes and tongue where baby blue hues pop off the adidas logo, heel tab and speckled cage.
